It was a cold, rainy day in the island of Loguetown. With such a strong storm affecting the island, the city resembled a ghost town, without a single citizen dumb enough to be outside at the time. Well, except for one of them, if only because he wasn´t a citizen, and because he was using an umbrella to avoid drenching his black suit and fedora. The black umbrella seemed to resemble the man itself, with a very nasty, sharp point at the top that could pierce a soft tissue or two easily, but intended to help others via getting in the way of trouble; a very ironic metaphor that he was thinking about at the time. This man´s name was Ernest, and he was a spy for the Revolutionary Army, having infiltrated the Cipher Police ranks and gone up to CP4 as proof of his sneaky, deceiving nature: however, despite enjoying many of the inherent benefits, he also had to deal with missions like the one the higher ups had assigned to him: hunt down a notorious pirate crew known as The Long Scarf Pirates before they became any stronger. Obviously, after the crew had survived a battle against a gone-mad infamously powerful pirate and his second in command, they would think themselves prepared for the big leap towards the Grand Line (blatant lies, of course, not even Ernest himself was remotely prepared for that, despite his amazingly large training period compared to his age and doubled by having to train in two separate factions.)
His Den Den Mushi rang as he walked down the streets, heading towards the bay (they wouldn´t be so stupid as to disembark their pirate ship into a dock of a World Government Island, would they? There were lots of Marines watching over there just in case, anyways) He picked it up, being met with the typical slight interference of a White Den Den Mushi on the other side. These guys sure were paranoid of spies, huh? Well, it´s not like he could blame them: he was one himself.
"CP4-0333-A, this is Meathook, come in" -A static-filled unrecognizable voice said.
"CP4-0333-A here, copy." -Ernest replied right away with a firm, stern voice.
"Target Confirmed: We have visual on the enemy ship via Surveillance Den Den Mushi placed on the News Coo, over."
"Roger that. Over and out."
And saying this, he hung the Mushi, internally screaming for being so much of a cannon fodder that people referred to him by a code with thousands of variations. In any case, it was confirmed now: The pirates were about to arrive to the island, and he would prepare the nicest of greetings for them. As much as he would like to use them as more fuel for his Devil Fruit Powers, he knew that he had to capture them in order for the suspicions to go down, given every single Revolutionary he had captured had "mysteriously" disappeared. Now facing the bay, he remained there grabbing his umbrella with his left hand and resting his right arm upon the sheathed katana that was fastened to his belt.
