You may only have 2 active Moderated threads per user.
A Moderated thread is a type of RP in which a staff member or authorized user will guide a member through a situation or event which they do not control. It is similar to tabletop RPGs, since the moderator of the thread acts as a Game Master of sorts, controlling NPCs and the scenery that the user sees while they only control their own character and certain events which the moderator does not specify. You may obtain as a reward anything that you could get in a fic as well, but generally with a lowered grade depending on the difficulty.
Levels of Difficulty in Moderated Roleplay:
Level 1: Learning RP. Characters of all levels may appear, but there is no risk of death whatsoever. The characters that will be openly hostile without provocation can´t be above level 15. You can get weak items and berri, but not techniques or anything above. You also get no exp for these ones, or almost none if you are below level 30.
Level 2: Medium difficulty. NPCs of all levels may appear. but there´s no risk of death over them. The ones that will attack will not go over level 30. You may get exactly any sort of item that you would in a fic with the same grade needed.
Level 3: Hard difficulty. NPCs of all levels may appear but they won´t show open hostility, only if provoked they will take violent measures. The ones that WILL attack on sight won´t go above level 45. You can get anything that you would in a fic with -0.5 grade needed. At this point you could conquer a Blues Island in one of these.
Level 4: Very Hard Difficulty. NPCs of all levels may appear but they won´t show open hostility, only if provoked they will take violent measures. The ones that are directly violent can´t surpass level 70. You can get fic rewards at -1 grade needed. You could conquer Paradise Islands in one of these.
Level 5: Professional Difficulty: NPCs of all levels may appear but they won´t show open hostility, only if provoked they will take violent measures. Directly violent ones can´t go above level 100. You can get fic rewards at -1.5 the grade needed, and also conquer an island in the New World or Red Line.
Level 6: Equivalent of the War of Marineford in a small scale, but with the same difficulty. NPCs of all levels may appear but they won´t show open hostility, only if provoked they will take violent measures. Directly violent ones can´t go past level 120. -2.0 grade needed for fic rewards.
Level 7: Ultimate Difficulty. NPCs of all levels may appear but they won´t show open hostility, only if provoked they will take violent measures. Directly violent ones can´t go past level 150 (It may feature originally pacific creatures that go past this level) -2.5 grade required for a fic reward. To put this in perspective, you could get Devil Fruit Awakening just with a 7.5 instead of a 10.
The level of difficulty doesn´t necessarily influence the level of NPCs, it´s just an explanation of the difficulty level and the limit of the NPC´s level. A lvl 1 character could go through a Level 7 Moderated thread and survive.
The moderator of the thread is not authorized to carry out direct hostility towards the player when the NPC they face are 10 levels above them or more, unless it is because of the plot of the thread or because of a series of bad choices that ultimately leads down to it. Any closed action that damages the character must be discussed with the staff first. The moderator´s advice and clues must be followed using common sense, and if a character begins to act against their moderator´s indications, whether on purpose or not they may suffer the highest penalty for the level of the thread, usually death, maiming, permanent damage or capture. That being said, you just need to think if you don´t want this to happen, it´s not that hard to follow indications and clues, or at least try to survive without doing anything foolish.
For this type of RP to begin, you need to post in the "Ask!" section, asking for a staff member or other user to moderate your thread, as well as specifying the level of the moderated RP and some conditions you want to put (such as it being a fight, an infiltration, etc).
As these kinds of RP take time and are hard to plan, we encourage the users to be patient while your moderator posts.
Crews may partake in moderated threads of levels 3 through 7, and get the same benefits as a single user would.
Common users may only moderate up to level 4 threads. Above that level, only the staff may moderate it.
A common user may not decide the prizes of the thread, only the staff may do so afterwards.
If it´s a member of the staff that´s moderating, another one would do the grading and give the rewards.
The moderator will receive 30%-50% of the user´s gained exp depending on the quality of the moderation. This will also be decided by another staff member.
-Story Arcs:
These are for the most powerful in the forum and can have any sort of enemies of any level, but it brings extreme rewards in turn. However, these can only initiate when the staff decides to open one of them, usually when there are enough medium-to-high end characters in the forum to pull off one of these with enough participation.
Arcs will try to keep a certain purpose and story for every participant, so it will have a consequence for the world at large, even for those who don´t take part in the arc. The moderator (most likely an administrator) will guide people´s actions and give clues to the consequences of certain actions. Lack of common sense, logical decisions and the own character´s usual behavior and personality faltering one too many times will be punished, sometimes even with the character´s death. Arcs are not something to be taken trivially, and one should try to stay within their character´s mindset while also taking logical, wise choices.
There may be more than one moderator given the scale of the arc, but they will be selected for the quality of their narration and their experience (meaning that they must have done other moderations before.)
If a character is defeated in combat, only the main moderator will decide whether he falls unconscious, or is killed.
The arc´s moderator may change any of these rules at any given time, warning the users of the change beforehand.
