This thread will be dedicated to all of the minor changes the forum gets over time, as well as some minor news that the staff would like the members to know. As the only currently active staff member, I´d like to take this chance to let you know of some of the changes that will take place, and those that have already happened. With no further ado, the list begins.
-The forum has started to implement word-of-mouth advertisement encouraging measures. This means that any member confirmed to have been told about the forum by another user (and registering because of that) will count as a reward towards the member that brought them here. For example, let´s say member X recommends the forum to a friend, and they end up joining the forum. If their friend confirmed having been brought here by member X, then member X would be given a reward (weapons, dials, experience, etc) which will increase in amount or quality as more friends are added to the forum. We appreciate the efforts of some of our members to contribute to the forum and would like to reward them in equal measure, so please don´t go out of your way to tell others: do it only if you already intended to.
-Also, given our lack of active staff members, we´ve started recruiting moderators. Now, this is a long process that requires trust and some degree of skill, but eventually it can be achieved. The requirements to apply as a moderator are as follows:
*Having been an active member for most of your stay in the forum and giving prior warning when you´ve taken a short break for whatever reasons (school, work, issues, etc) The staff decides on this one.
*Having reached level 50 with at least a single character. This also includes that the character must at least be slightly famous, whether within their own faction or organization, or worldwide. They must have some sort of recognition, bounty, reputation, etc.
*Displaying knowledge of the forum´s mechanics and rules, at least of a single board. For example, being accustomed to grading fics and moderated threads, or being able to do some easy maths on the stores and knowing when to sell someone something (there are some rules regarding markets, after all).
*Being generally nice to others in the forum, with no known drama or issues surrounding you. Staff decides, again.
*Having moderated at least five threads before. Remember that non-mods can moderate threads for others as well, except if the threads are Difficulty 4 or higher. Those are Staff-Only.
*Passing a short testing period as a temporal moderator after the former conditions have been met.
After becoming a moderator, a member can work their way up to Global Moderator as well, but it´s very early to discuss that and it will be done via PM when a member fulfills certain conditions.
-It is very minor, but the forum´s background, gradients and banner background have changed slightly to fix a small mistake. Feedback is always appreciated, of course.
-In the future, we plan on finishing the Store area, as well as implementing Events and the first Plot Arc, but that depends on whether we get enough members to start one, unless you want to deal with hundreds of NPCs and one or two members. Other ideas are also in motion, but we need time to adapt to what seems best for the forum.
Yours truly, members of the forum,
Shiro, Workaholic Admin.
